Dr. Van Dell
Dr. Van Dell is a practicing board certified obstetrician-gynecologist in Flower Mound, Texas.
He completed his undergraduate education from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Mathematics. He earned his medical degree at Texas Tech University and completed his residency at Texas Tech in El Paso, Texas in 2002, where he also became fluent in Spanish. He was honored as Chief Resident during his final year.
Dr. VanDell has won many awards including best teaching attending at Texas Health Flower Mound and best Ob/gyn from Dallas Child Magazine. He is experienced in high-risk obstetrics, with a special interest in diabetes during pregnancy.
He is also well versed in the latest techniques in treating a variety of gynecologic problems, including robotics and advanced laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. He is honored to have been selected many times to travel around the country to teach other doctors how to perform a variety of new surgical techniques.
Dr. VanDell delivers at the Texas Health Flower Mound hospital. The hospital provides 24/7 in house MD anesthesia service, as well as a very active NICU.
Dr. VanDell has served many roles as an active member of the Flower Mound Medical community, from Chief of Obstetrics to Chief of the Medical staff as well as others. Currently he serves as the immediate past Chief of the Medical Staff. He views his role as a mentor with significant appreciation.
In his spare time, Dr. Van Dell enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
Dr. Saly Thomas
Dr. Saly Thomas grew up in Plano,Texas with two younger sisters. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas with Summa Cum Laude honors. She went on to earn a medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, where she became fluent in Spanish. Dr. Thomas completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas,Texas, and achieved Board Certification immediately after graduation. With her intensive training at Parkland Hospital, she is experienced in high-risk obstetrics as well as advanced gynecologic surgery.
She has interest in high-risk obstetrics, irregular menses, well-woman health maintenance, and laparoscopic/ hysteroscopic surgery. She has extensive experience in and enjoys robotic surgery. Dr. Thomas feels that one of the best strengths of her training is the ability to care for women in all stages of life from adolescence to menopause. She has been honored multiple times by her colleagues as an expert reviewer of difficult cases as well as serving on multiple boards and serving as the Vice-Chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in Texas Health Presbyterian Flower Mound Hospital.
Dr. Thomas is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and also a member of the American Medical Association. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and daughter.
Dr. Arax Nazarian
Dr. Arax Nazarian received her medical degree from University of North Texas Health-Science Center in Fort Worth, where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology. She established her practice in Lewisville in 1999, upon completing her residency.
She is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetrics and Gynecology, member of American Osteopathic Association and Texas Osteopathic Medical Association.
She served for many years as Department Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has been requested over many years to provide her input on reviewing difficult cases.
The American Board has also requested for many years to have her be a board examiner.
She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and has been recognized by her peers as best doctor in D Magazine many times.
Beth Dickens - Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM)
Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM) support women as partners in healthcare choices, and empower women to be responsible for their own health. Beth has been a Certified Nurse Midwife since April of 1988. In her 36 years of practice She has delivered over 4000 babies, in hospital only, seen thousands of pregnant women as well as cared for thousands of gynecological patients to include first exams for teenagers, STD counseling, birth control counseling, management of abnormal Pap smears, menopausal signs and symptoms and many other health issues.
Beth was born and raised in New Hampshire, went to Nursing school there, then Nurse Midwifery School at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She is devoted to her patients and their families. She is married with adult children.
